Our buses and METRO trains make getting to great destina-
tions easy and stress free!
If you’re traveling between the two downtowns, your best
option is to take a Route 94 express bus, which offers fast and
frequent service. In mid-2014, Metro Transit will open the new
METRO Green Line, which will connect the two cities and the
University of Minnesota via METRO.
In Minneapolis, the METRO Blue Line is the easy option
from downtown to both airport terminals and from there it’s
just a short ride to Mall of America. Trains leave roughly every
10 minutes during rush hours. For service to downtown Saint
Paul from Terminal 1-Lindbergh, board a Route 54 bus.
Fares range from $1.75 to $3, depending on time of day and
type of service. To transfer to another bus or to one of the
METRO lines, ask for a transfer, which is valid for unlimited
rides for 2. 5 hours.
You can ride within the Minneapolis or Saint Paul Downtown
Zones for only 50 cents at any time (transfers are not available
within the zones). If you’re planning to ride a lot, buy a Day
Pass. For just $6, you’ll get unlimited rides on buses and the
METRO anywhere in Minneapolis or Saint Paul for 24 hours.
